Anne McMunn is Professor of Social Epidemiology and is currently the Head of the Research Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at UCL. Her research focuses on the ways in which aspects of the social environment influence health. In particular, Anne investigates work characteristics, unpaid domestic work, and social relationships and their impact on health and wellbeing from a gender perspective using the UK's wealth of population data sets that follow large numbers of people over time. She is Deputy Director of the International Centre for Life Course Studies in Society & Health as well as a PhD programme in biosocial research. Anne grew up in Los Angeles but has lived in London for 23 years. She has three children and worked part-time for nine years while they were young.
